The tourist offer is varied. There are twelve perfectly signalled routes which go over the different “brañas”, lakes and mountains. These routes can be done on foot, by mountain bike or even riding a horse. | |

Hunting, fishing or cross-country skiing are also common activities to be practiced in Somiedo. The county has a bus and a taxi service (check timetables on www.alsa.es ). Leitariegos ski resort is just 35 km away from Somiedo. In Pola there is a Cyber-centre with free Internet access.

The “Mirador del Principe” (Viewpoint of the Prince), in the village of La Peral , is one the best places to admire the beauty of the Cantabrian Mountains . |
Other Activities
in Somiedo:
Somiedo´s Ecomuseum (Pola de Somiedo and Veigas). This museum has two sites: one in Pola de Somiedo, devoted to displaying tools and utensils of traditional trades; and the other one in Veigas, where the traditional features of Somiedo´s housing are displayed in three purpose-built thatched houses. The “Fundación Oso Pardo” (Brown Bear Foundation), dedicated to the preservation of the brown bear and its habitat, has an Information Centre in Pola de Somiedo.
